One of my proudest moments as an engineer was watching a procurement system I helped build go live across Pakistan. It was funded by the World Bank, and procurement offices nationwide now run their tenders through it. That project taught me what software means when a country relies on it.

Since 2018 I have worked for five companies in three countries: Pakistan, a US association (remotely) and Saudi Arabia. Today I lead AI work at the University of Business & Technology in Jeddah, where I bring retrieval-augmented generation and agent pipelines into everyday academic and administrative workflows.

Outside work hours I build my own AI engineering team: a set of specialised agents that write requirements, generate code and review it. I am a registered member of the Saudi Council of Engineers.

Federal & Baluchistan PPRA — national e-procurement

The problem

Public procurement across Pakistan ran on paper and disconnected tools. Tenders were slow to publish, hard to audit and closed to many vendors.

What I did

As managing consultant I led development of the Federal and Baluchistan portals: more than eight microservices covering digital tendering, vendor registration, dynamic form engines, requisitions, committees, notifications and OCR, plus ML.NET models trained on procurement data.

Outcome

Live nationwide and serving 500+ vendors. Automation cut manual procurement processing time by around 50%.
